Haimen has more than 2,500 home textile enterprises, and last year’s online and offline turnover exceeded US$20.96 billion, with a national market share of over 40% for bedding. This year, Haimen will seize the opportunity of the synergistic development of the home textile market and the construction of the airport, amplify the effect of the two national reform pilots of market procurement trade mode and cross-border e-commerce, accelerate the construction of functional platforms such as the International Home Textile Museum, the World Textile Museum, the cross-border e-commerce duty-free shopping centre, the Urban Fun Complex, the Central Showground (the five functions in one World Textile Plaza project) and the Deep International Logistics Park and the International Mail Exchange Bureau .The project will establish and improve the whole industrial chain from fabric research and development, creative design, product development to production and sales and consumer experience, and accelerate the building of a world-class home textile industry cluster demonstration base.
The construction industry is the dominant industry in Haimen, with 4 special grade qualified enterprises, and Zhongnan Group, Nantong Three Construction and Longxin Group among the top 500 private enterprises in China. It has been awarded the honor of “National Assembly Building Demonstration City” and “National Assembly Building Industry Base“. Relying on the provincial-level Nantong Modern Construction Industry Park, Haimen will integrate industrial resources from inside and outside the region, guide enterprises to transform to digital construction, green construction and assembly-type construction, make the construction industry modernization base bigger and stronger, and continuously improve the level of agglomeration development.
At present, Haimen has a number of leading offshore ship enterprises, such as China Merchants Heavy Industry, COSCO Heavy Industry and Haixin Shipbuilding, and has a good foundation to promote the high-tech offshore ship industry chain, together with the development of high-end, intelligent and localization. In Haimen, the biopharmaceutical industry has become the fastest growing industry in the region with an average annual increase of 40%.
