Toothbrush Quality Inspection,Full Function Test
The children’s market is often the most important thing for importers to be careful, because children of different ages have different demands for toothbrush categories, and the health of teeth is also the most important concern of parents in the growing period of children. Parents at this stage are more willing to ignore the price of products and choose high-quality products.How can professional toothbrush importers ignore this problem? Brush handle design
Inspection methods:
- Take pictures of the overall shape of the toothbrush and measure the weight of the toothbrush;
- Touchthe surface of the toothbrush and feel whether the material of the toothbrush handle is smooth or not.
- Check whether the handle width and length is easy to grasp,center of gravity distribution is uniform;
- Testto grasp toothbrush and actually feel the handle.
Toothbrush quality inspection results show that:
Children’s toothbrushes are usually pink, blue and yellow. Cartoons are attached to the brush handle and the hook design at the end of the brush handle keeps the toothbrush dry and sanitary.
The toothbrush is made of polypropylene and has a smooth and transparent surface. The brush head is oval, the brush neck is linear,the brush handle is curved,and a thumb rest designed at the brush handle is suitable for children to grasp.In addition, the tail of the brush handle is rounded to reduce the possibility of accidental stabbing when children brush their teeth.
Product size and net weight must be tested for each product in the toothbrush quality inspection. According to Chinese national standards, the total length of children’s toothbrushes should be between 110 mm and 180 mm. The overall length of this toothbrush is 161 mm, the length is moderate, and it conforms to the national standard. Moreover, the toothbrush weighs about 10g which is small and light.
Brush head size
Inspection methods:
- Measure the brush head size with a ruler to determine whether the brush head size is appropriate for children;
- Observe the shape of the brush head to determine whether the brush head can fit with the tooth curve and effectively clean the residuals in oral cavity.

The younger the children is, the smaller the choice of toothbrush head will be,which only can adapt to the children’s young mouth and more carefully clean the residual milk stains and sugar on the teeth. Importers can mark the appropriate age on the product package to consumers to buy conveniently. This brush head has a hair surface length of 18 mm, a hair surface width of 8 mm and a bristle height of 10 mm.
Bristle density
Inspection methods:
- Shoot the bristles and observe the characteristics onthe top of the bristles;
- Measure the bristle density with vernier caliper;
- Take a brush and a hair for comparison, feel the fine density of the brush, and judge whether the hidden parts of the teeth can be cleaned effectively.
Toothbrush quality inspection results show that:
The bristles of this toothbrush are designed parallelly and the bristles are orderly arranged, with a bundle of bristles of about 1.03 mm and uniform density.Bristles tip diameter ≤ 0.01 mm, the naked eye can also see fine bristles clearly.
Compared with an adult toothbrush and hair,the monofilament bristle of this toothbrush is obviously thinner than the bristles of an adult toothbrush, and the bristles tip of this toothbrush is thinner than the hair.
Flexibility of bristles
Inspection methods:
- Touch the bristle material and feel whether the bristle is soft or not without hurting the gum.
- Pull the bristles hard to feel whether they are flexible and not easy to break.
Toothbrush quality inspection results show that:
Children’s oral mucosa is weaker than adults, and toothbrush bristles should besofter and harder to break in order to better protect children’s gum health.Therefore, the new national standard for children’s toothbrushes also stipulates that children’s toothbrushes must use soft hair, i.e. monofilament diameter ≤ 0.18 mm. In the actual toothbrush quality inspection,the bristles are pulled without fracture,and have toughness and a soft touch.
Through the tests in four aspects, the appearance and function of the toothbrush are checked in all directions. Of course, not all third-party inspections can be done with this toothbrush quality inspection method. Some importers will choose laboratory tests. But how Avoid Fake Testing Samples is the key.
