But how about the comparison of these third-party fast charging cables with the original data cable? There may be users still having doubts, especially in terms of material structure, which determines the charging effect of the cable, but ordinary users can not easily know it. Let’s take a brief look at the appearance , the color of the UGREEN type-c to Lightning fast charging cable is cream, using the same TPE skin as the original data cable, soft to the touch, no hard and cheap feeling like fake data cable.

Using the UGREEN adapter cable, with the UGREEN PD charger to charge the iPhone XS, when the iPhone XS remaining power of 8%, the measured charging power can reach 18.09W, after charging 30 minutes the power grew to 61%, within 30 minutes charged 53% of the power.

After measuring the compatibility of the charging head, we found that the 30W PD charging head of Green Union can also be used with other third-party type-c to Lightning chargers such as Zimmy, anker, and Mormis to fast charge the iPhone, which can basically charge 50% in half an hour, so it has a strong applicability.

Next, we will immediately disassemble to see the internal structure of this fast charging cable Green Union.

First cut the cross-section of the cable, you can find that the Green Union type-c to Lightning cable has three layers of protection, from the outside to the inside are TPE outer skin, metal braided mesh and aluminum foil shielding layer, in the protection of the internal core from damage, while strengthening the shielding effect and transmission stability.

These protective layers are very tightly connected to each other, and upon closer inspection, you can see the impressions produced by the extrusion of the TPE outer skin and the metal braided mesh.

These protective layers protect the internal wire cores, where the thickest red core is the positive current, which ensures maximum power output, white and green are positive and negative signal lines, responsible for data transmission, blue is the CC line, responsible for PD fast charging, three silver lines for the ground, and the yellow and white cross for the Kevlar tensile fiber line, and other wire cores through the stranded way, improving the resistance to shaking and pulling, extending the life of the data line.

After checking the wire part, then come to see the construction of the USB-C port, first remove the protective layer of the C-port, cut the fixed adhesive, because the fixed ground is very secure, the disassembly process is quite laborious.

After disassembly, you can see that the C-port terminal PCB has two small capacitors for filtering. The back side is firmly protected by soldering + adhesive fixation of the 5 cores mentioned above.

Checking the most important part of the Lightning port, found that this end of the protection is more thick, in addition to thickening the TPE outer was, on the basis of the line core through the spot welding, but also the use of the overall injection of glue + tinplate protection.  This encapsulation, on the one hand, to play a protective role, on the other hand, can also prevent contact between the core short circuit, of course, also added a little difficulty to my disassembly work.

After disassembly, careful observation, you can find a large chip on the contact surface, silk-screened AS3616A, after checking, this is Apple specifically open to third-party accessories manufacturers to use the C94 terminal chip, performance and Apple’s own C91 terminal is no different.

General knowledge,the reason for the “large” area of this chip is that it is more integrated and can support USB PD fast charging.

Turn it over and find a small chip on the back, in addition to its small size, its advantage is to improve the high frequency performance of the circuit and thermal performance.

This is the end of the disassembly process. Through this disassembly, it can be seen that such third-party type-c to Lightning fast charging cable in China is not inferior to the original data cable in terms of internal construction and stacking materials. In actual use, its charging speed and transmission speed is also not much different from the original data cable.
